Donnie Reis is an award-winning artist, producer, songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist known for his dynamic violin work and genre-spanning music career. As Owner and Executive Producer of Twelve 3 South Recording in Nashville, he has produced and developed artists across country, rock, gospel, and pop since 2013. His work on projects have earned a Telly Award, 26 Billboard Top 10s, four Billboard chart #1s, four Billboard 200-charting projects, and recognition from American Songwriter for one of the Top 24 Songs of 2022.
Blending country-rock energy with classical training, Donnie Reis has become a highly sought-after touring musician known for his dynamic stage presence and versatility across genres. His extensive tour experience over the last 18 years has given him the opportunity to collaborate and share the stage with many artists including The Charlie Daniels Band, Chris Young, Edwin McCain, Mat Best and Jarred Taylor (Black Rifle Coffee), Randy Travis, and The Frontmen to name a few. He also launched the Donnie Reis Violin Collection, including his Touring Pro violin available through Sweetwater Sound.
Reis is also co-founder of the country-rock duo War Hippies, blending southern storytelling, rock energy, and veteran advocacy into a nationally recognized act that has toured with artists including Travis Tritt, Chris Janson, and many more. They gained attention for songs like “Killin’ It” and “The Hangman,” and “Make It Out Alive,” named by American Songwriter as one of the Top 24 Songs of 2022.
Following the events of September 11, 2001, Reis stepped away from a full music scholarship at Miami University to enlist in the U.S. Army. He deployed to Iraq from 2004–2005 during Operation Iraqi Freedom with the HSC 216th Engineer Battalion and 1st Infantry Division and was honorably discharged in 2009. His military service continues to shape both his music and philanthropic work.
Beyond music, Reis actively supports veteran-focused organizations and initiatives, using his platform to advocate for healing, transition support, and mental health awareness within the veteran community through both his music and charitable work.
