Donnie is an accomplished producer, songwriter, composer, and musician, most notably for the violin.
Multiple songs and albums Donnie has written, played on, and/or produced have ranked on various Billboard charts, with several peaking at #1 (See Discography). In 2013, he founded a publishing company and his own recording studio, Twelve 3 South, to meet the growing demand for his production work. Twelve 3 South has quickly gained notoriety as one of Nashville’s premier recording studios.
His career has spanned multiple genres both in the studio and on stage. These include Pop (Zayn, Emma Zander), Holiday/Adult Contemporary (Straight No Chaser, Elizabeth Chan), Country (Larry Stewart, The Frontmen of Country), Soundtrack (Amy Lee, History Channel, Hallmark Channel, HGTV, Food Network), Singer/Songwriter (Erick Baker, Caroline Glaser), Jazz (Tim Rushlow & His Big Band, Leona Berlin), Classical (Foreigner with the 21st Century Orchestra & Chorus), Alternative (Jonathan Jackson + Enation), and Gospel (Champion, Tye Tribbett, Byron Cage).
The Chopper Jam, one of Donnie’s newest live acts, debuted at the 2nd annual Tennessee Motorcycles and Music Revival in 2018, held at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. The all-star cast of musicians formed the band that backed featured artists including Donnie along with Tim “The Fiddleman” Watson and Tayla Lynn. Some of Donnie’s other solo appearances have included Edwin McCain, Kris Allen, Tim Montana, Lee Greenwood, Amy Grant, and John Elefante.
Donnie served his country with the US Army’s 1st ID in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Since then, he has made many notable performances as a continued service to the United States. These include several MWR/Navy Entertainment tours, The 2017 Presidential Inaugural Concert, and 2017 Inaugural Balls.
